The primary method by which governments increase their
control is by creating fear.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the
populace alarmed - and hence clamorous to be led to
safety - and menacing it with an endless series of
hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
I am watching television, reading newspapers and
magazines and listening to radio, and all I get is fear 24/7.
I wonder when we stopped being the home of the brave.
